Nature's Narrative

Telling the story of our planet

One and only entity that governs the whole universe is Nature. Some have personified Nature as Almighty who is omnipotent and omnipresent. I endearingly prefer to call Mother Nature who is caring and benevolent. She takes care of and nourishes us all.

As a member of the great family, we must respect and care for every element of Mother Nature. Felling trees causes habitat destruction, ultimately leading to a big and irrevocable destruction. It needs to be managed scientifically to keep a harmonious equilibrium.

Here comes the LiFE, which is Lifestyle for Environment.

I endeavour to create impactful, quality writing pieces to instigate the thought process. It is how I want to contribute my bit to the social and environmental cause.

Come, embark on the journey with me. You will enjoy it, I am sure.

Freedom

People thronged everywhere. Jubilant and enthusiastic masses were moving ahead, raising slogans, converging into a condensed mass of people. They were free. The country was a free nation. People fought relentlessly for it and forced the foreign rulers to quit.

(1) Made a tryst with destiny

“Long ago we made a tryst with destiny, and the time has come when we redeem our pledge…” The voice reverberated. The audience was spellbound. Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of free India, was speaking in the Parliament hall. Addressing the Constituent Assembly on the eve of India’s freedom, he reflected the feelings and aspirations of the Indian people.

(2) People’s resolve

India was free but vivisected. Profusely bleeding and lacerated, India stood firm on its feet. People resolved to have a nation where everyone was free to develop, prosper and grow. The “Two Nation Theory” successfully carved out a portion of the country. As a result, a new theocratic country was born. Large-scale arson, conflagrations and riots were rampant, but people were glowing with confidence. Soon, the bloodshed and arson stopped, and the country started its journey on the path of progress and prosperity.

(3) Decades after

After almost eight decades of independence, India’s achievements glow on the faces of its people. The country has achieved remarkable success in science and technology, economic growth, and international relations. India’s journey to progress is phenomenal. The country is no longer a tag-along. It has become self-reliant and has established strong relationships with other nations worldwide. It is a powerful, condensed force of over 1.4 billion (140 crore) people capable of making an impact.

Impressive growth

India’s journey to progress has brought it to a stage where it can’t be ignored. The impressive growth rate drives it towards prosperity and makes it a powerful country. It is a force to be reckoned with. The world listens to India with rapt attention. On the international forum, India’s voice reverberates like thunder.

(1) Fourth largest economy

The fourth-largest economy in the world, after Germany. With a GDP $4.187 trillion, the Indian economy is robust and sound. India’s fast progression is commendable. With the pace of progress, days are not far when India will be in the top three, surpassing superpowers.

(2) Space technology

India is now leading in space technology. It became the first country to land its lunar module near the South Pole on the Moon. India’s Vikram lander made its successful soft landing on the moon. Rover Pragyan roamed for a fortnight on the moon’s surface and sent pictures and data to scientists.

(3)Self-respect

New India knows the importance of self-respect. It talks face-to-face with the world and never interferes in other matters. India replies befittingly if provoked. In the non-escalatory “Operation Sindoor”, India showed its mettle and firepower. The terror outfits across the border were annihilated.

Helping to neighbours

India is committed to its national integrity and sovereignty. It believes in mutual cooperation and development and helps neighbouring countries in their growth and development. India assisted Sri Lanka in overcoming its economic crisis and managing disasters. It also provided help in Turkey during the devastating earthquake through “Operation Dost”. Additionally, it extended support to Myanmar via “Operation Karuna”. (Ministry of External Affairs) (Times of India)

Indian democracy

Mother of democracy, India, believes in people’s power and acts according to the people’s mandate. The largest electoral system, comprising about 991 million (99.1 Crores) voters, the election process is a mammoth task.

Infrastructure development

The new India is known for its fast-growing infrastructure. Improved health facilities and a sound economy also define it. It doesn’t succumb to bullying or “atomic blackmail” by its enemies. India knows what is best for its people. Being a responsible sovereign nation, it knows how to conduct itself. “Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam” (the world is a family) is the core of the Indian thought process.

PM Modi spoke

(1) Mission “Sudarshan Chakra”

Speaking from the ramparts of the Red Fort, PM Modi announced in his speech the launch of “Mission Sudarshan Chakra”. This mission aims for the overall safety of the nation. It is meant to protect against vicious attacks from enemies, neutralise, and hit back. The PM illustrated the importance of “Sudarshan Chakra” (Divine Discus). He compared it with the Divine Discus of Lord Krishna in the Mahabharata. The mission will be an all-around security of the country, he said. It aims to guarantee self-sufficiency in the defence sector. (Highlights from the PM’s address)

(2) Constitutional sanctity

Reminding the black chapter in the annals of free India, PM Modi underlined the importance of constitutional sanctity. He also underscored the necessity of safeguarding the Constitution for the orderly functioning of democratic India.

(3) Indus Water Treaty

PM Modi clarified India’s stand on the Indus water treaty. He categorically said there was no point in backing out from India’s position. India does not recognise the unilateral treaty. He reiterated that the right of India’s farmers is obvious. Indian share of water was exclusively for Indian farmers, and their rights would be ensured, he declared.

(4) Future India

Speaking on future India, Modi emphasised citizen-centric governance. He said that about 1500 irrelevant and outdated laws were repealed, and complicated procedures were simplified. Elaborating on “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India), PM Modi stressed the importance of self-reliance in every field. Dependency leads not to freedom, he said. Criticising dependence becomes a habit, PM Modi stressed the need for self-reliance. He appealed to youth to come forth and accept the challenge of developing indigenous jet engine technology. He encouraged them to create social media platforms and innovate in other critical sectors. It would augment India’s freedom and take a quantum jump towards “Atmnirbhar Bharat” (Self-reliant India).

Bravehearts

This is the time when we remember our Bravehearts who sacrificed their lives to secure the national integrity and unity. They brave all odds, treacherous physical conditions and enemies’ vicious activities to safeguard frontiers from enemies and infiltrators. Compatriots must keep alive those who went to protect the nation and us but never came back. Our heartfelt love and respect for them.

Epilogue

Our forefathers fought for freedom and dreamt about a developed and prosperous India. It is our responsibility to carry the torch of freedom onwards and keep it alive. India’s impressive journey to progress has provided its people with opulence, rich fruits and grains. It quenches thirst with the water of its rivers. India is not merely a piece of land, but is like mother who tends her children.

It is gratifying to be an Indian and proudly say:

“Ye Mera India, I love my India.” (This is my India which I love the most)
