Nature's Narrative

Telling the story of our planet

One and only entity that governs the whole universe is Nature. Some have personified Nature as Almighty who is omnipotent and omnipresent. I endearingly prefer to call Mother Nature who is caring and benevolent. She takes care of and nourishes us all.

As a member of the great family, we must respect and care for every element of Mother Nature. Felling trees causes habitat destruction, ultimately leading to a big and irrevocable destruction. It needs to be managed scientifically to keep a harmonious equilibrium.

Here comes the LiFE, which is Lifestyle for Environment.

I endeavour to create impactful, quality writing pieces to instigate the thought process. It is how I want to contribute my bit to the social and environmental cause.

Come, embark on the journey with me. You will enjoy it, I am sure.

The Reality Behind Free Plane Tickets

If you won two free plane tickets, where would you go?

The content discusses the concept of “free” offers, arguing that such promotions often mislead consumers and create confusion. It suggests that nothing is genuinely free, as these incentives are marketing tactics that may lead consumers to make ill-informed decisions. The text emphasises the importance of mindful choices, explaining that while some may enjoy freebies, others prefer genuine products at reasonable prices. It also reflects on how different individuals have diverse preferences and highlights the significance of planned experiences over random surprises. Ultimately, it encourages respect for personal choices in the context of free offers and travel destinations.

First, it is pertinent to point out that the concept of freebie is not only a misnomer but also a fake concept to lure people towards the product or service. Nothing comes free. It is a bare fact. Anything offered free is nothing but a bundle of lies. It is like offering to get a chance to meet a celebrity at dinner. People buy the product or service mindlessly, in a mad race, and contribute to the money minted by the product. It should be thought by the people using their prudence.

Sounds harsh, but there seems to be no other way of presenting this fact other than this. The bitter pill has to be swallowed. It is quite understandable as a marketing gimmick, but it should not be a potential tool to increase the sales figures. Using unreasonable/false promises is unethical and hence avoided and discouraged. An informed decision is good. Consumers should have the sole discretion to choose a service or product based on their judgment.. Alluring them by offering freebies is, in a sense, shadowing facts.

Coming to the point. It’s crucial to consider why someone receives free tickets and what conditions must be met before they are awarded. A common person who has no access to the so-called essential services of elites doesn’t know what to do. He simply doesn’t find it congenial to get an “opportunity” to travel in an aeroplane. Most of these freebie offers end up in disappointment and confusion.

Aeroplanes have been touted as a method of transportation reserved for elites or the privileged class. It has been a means that was linked with affluence. Secondly, it is also said that it considerably cuts travel time. It is yet another misnomer. Considering every aspect and security concerns, the time taken by plane comes close to cheaper modes of travelling.

Free offers are often ineffective because they fail to create a sense of responsibility and ownership. Generally, it gives a callous feeling. Barring edibles, most freebies are of substandard quality and useless.

Having said that, and considering that one gets the offered free tickets, creates confusion. People express their wish to use them haphazardly. They are taken off guard, which makes them indecisive. Common people long for many things. Asking for a choice leaves them confused. Some would like to go on a foreign trip, which is the obvious choice for many first-time flyers. It is something that they never expected, but when it happened, they found it messy and hard to enjoy. People can enjoy their planned things or items, not any abrupt things. It applies to everyone, rich or poor alike.

The choice becomes messy when it is random and done with a feeling of compulsion. A sweet tooth consciously likes to have sweets. In this case, a sudden gift of chocolates will make him happy because he can relish them and store them for future use. A person who doesn’t like sweets will be in a fix.

The imaginary offer opens a floodgate of creating a pavonine but momentary soap bubble. People start reacting according to their emotional quotient and wishes. They try to express their love for their spouse, children, family, or friends. It is commonly observed that people portray their personality as an ideal. The intrinsic wish to showcase their noble qualities makes them boisterous. It is ubiquitous. The public reaction is impulsive and lopsided.

Good things are good, and wishing to have them is natural. It is admirable if someone strives to obtain a good thing and works diligently to earn it. The reward and the effort are commendable.

Almost every human being likes one thing or the other based on choice and preference. Serendipitous occurrences make one happy. So are the freebies, which come as a pleasant but planned surprise. Preplanned things add to enjoyment.

The above discourse is not intended to demean anything. It is the beneficiary or the end user who makes the final decision about the freebies offered or awarded. It is a matter of opinion, which is debatable. People are different and so are their choices. Some love to have freebies, while some prefer an honest presentation and genuine products at a reasonable price. Everyone’s choice needs to be respected.

Considering it a figment of imagination and an amusement, anyone’s destination can be anything from visiting Caribbean Nations to the hot deserts of the Sahara or from visiting the Pyramids of Giza to the monuments of Mayan civilisation. It depends.

For an Indian, visiting and seeing one’s own country is their priority. Such a vast country with varied natural and historical places, one can submerge in the variety of cuisine and culture of the great country.

Outside India, the places of ancient culture and tradition should be the choice. Greece is known for its antiquity. Similarly, Roman culture also aroused curiosity. Visiting Italy would be a natural choice.

Visiting the holy sacrificial site of Jesus Christ, the Holy Sepulchre, must also be considered. It is a place that humbles humans. It brings us close to the great soul who died at the cross for the cause of humanity.

  1. If it’s free for YOU, it’s because YOU are the product.

Now I feel terrible for saying that I would give the tickets to whichever one of my friends would want it.

    1. It doesn’t matter who you give tickets to. It is your outlook and it should be respected.

Yes, people are treated as product and treated like this. It is a reality.

Thanks for reading my thoughts and commenting on them.
