One loves or hates him, but it is impossible to ignore him. An epitome of simplicity, frugal necessity and firm determination, he loves his country and countrymen. The most popular leader among the other world leaders, he emerged as the one whom the world likes to listen to him with rapt attention and look at him for his suggestions and help. He is Narendra Damodardas Modi, aka Narendra Modi, a powerful and determined Prime Minister of India who commands public love and regard.
After decades of lethargy, inaction and indifference, India has emerged as a potential hub for foreign direct investments and collaboration in various fields. Under the leadership of Narendra Modi, the country is scaling new heights in every field. Emancipation of the country and its poor people is the prime concern. “SABKA SAATH SABKA VIKAS” (Development of all, embracing all) has been his Mantra. As a true “Karmyogi” (An ascetic who works diligently without waiting for the result), he does tirelessly without caring for the criticism and abuses of his opponents. For his opponents, he is a despot and ruthless who misuses the framework to harm the basic structure of the Constitution, but for the majority, he is their messiah who does good to remove the difficulties of the poor and deprived.
Since 2014 when he took oath of Prime Minister of the country, he cleared his stand. He made it clear to all what he would do and what his government would be like. He toured extensively and established rapport with key Nations of the world, making inroads in their “hard to penetrate” snob world, ailing with a superiority complex. Since then, world order has drastically changed. Once considered elites and superiors are eager to be a part of Indian leadership, getting proper replies on various fronts and prioritising India and Mr Narendra Modi.
Born in 1950, Modi Ji had a very humble childhood. He used to help his father who ran a tea stall near Vadnagar railway station in Gujrat. Child Narendra grew up in a parsimonious environment. Third among the six progenies of his patents, Modi was deeply attached to his mother Heerben. During his schooling, his schoolteachers were impressed by his oratory. He used to take part in drama played in school. Since his childhood days, Modi was inclined towards a right-wing nationalist thought process which grew strong with time.
Modi joined RSS (Rastriya Swayam Sewak Sangh) when he was still a child. He started attending “Shakha” of the organization. There he met Laxmanrao Inamdar who later became his mentor and political Guru. Ardent wish for service to humanity kept him restless. He did not like any bondage.
After his marriage at 18, he felt encaged as he wanted something by which he can serve his motherland. He tried to persuade his family but initially was not granted permission. After constant persuasion, he left home.
He travelled extensively across the country. Deeply influenced by the life of Swami Vivekanand, he visited Belur Muth in Kolkata. An imposing building, the muth was established by Swami Vivekanand, who was the disciple of Ramkrishna Paramhans. Leading a life of ascetics, young Modi endeavoured to know the self and many problems ailing society and the country. This made him a mature person, which is reflected in his personality. He has in-depth knowledge about the aspirations and difficulties of a common man.
After taking over as Prime Minister of India, Modi started work De Novo. He is of firm opinion that we need to stop working in silos. He is in favour of coordinated effort. โThe country is witnessing systematic work in mission mode. We changed the mindset of power to the mindset of service, we made the welfare of the people our medium.โ PM Modi tweeted. He worked hard to streamline the derailed system. He took over the task of cleaning and started the movement Clean India (Swachh Bharat Abhiyan). He laid great thrust on the cleanliness of surroundings and cities. Annexing a cleanliness drive with a clean environment, he emphasised recharging and repristinating dried and defunct ponds, wells and polluted rivers. Ban on single-use plastic was a link in the long chain of cleanliness drive. “Namami Gange”, a program to repristinate Ganga, catalysed the pace of cleaning the river and its subsidiary rivers.
The historic decision of Modi’s government was repealing Articles 370 and 35A, which gave special status to the state of Jammu and Kashmir in his second term. The intrepid decision received severe backlash from opposition parties. The foolproof arrangements and extensive spadework dampened the opposition in and outside the country. The selfish elements tried hard to jeopardize the decision. Undeterred, Modi and his cabinet colleagues burned the midnight oil and rebuked every type of opposition. The hostile neighbour on the western front tried to create a hill out of a molehill but failed on every front. Modi Ji proved right. Foreign funding to terrorist outfits was stopped bringing stone pelting and rampant violence to a grinding halt. Once a cauldron of violence and anarchy, Kashmir started coming to normalcy. People enthusiastically attached themselves to the rest of the country and took an active part in the election process of the country.
Fully aware of the poor condition of women in the country, Modi mooted a program to emancipate women of the country. Women were recruited in the security force and tri-services to increase women’s participation in the overall progression of the country. He emphasised the importance of a clean and salubrious environment. The “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” program was launched by PM Modi to enhance the green cover of the country. PM Modi has said in his broadcast “Man Ki Baat” (24 November 2024) that 100 crore saplings have been planted so far under this program.
Modi Ji is a visionary. Long-term goals and results are his primary concern while making policy. Tweeting about it, once he wrote, โIn the policies our government made after 2014, not only the initial benefits were taken care of, but second and third order effects were also given priority.โ
Modi Ji thinks and works for the country. It pleases him to be a son of India. He makes it a point to meet Indian Diaspora wherever he goes. In his recent “Man Ki Baat”, he fondly remembered Guyana, which he visited recently. Remembering them, he also mentioned Oman, where people from Gujrat migrated centuries ago, but Indianness is ingrained in their hearts. Modi Ji is not popular because of his position, but being kind-hearted and empathetic about people’s problems, he is a popular leader loved by the people of India and all over the world.
