Tell us about a time when you felt out of place.
Before proceeding further, it would be proper to give a disclaimer. The prose does not intend to convey its absolute nature. It is, though, perception-based and debatable.
A Psychological Condition
Feeling out of place is psychological and sometimes lands on a rough, bumpy road causing shaky self-confidence. Moreover, it is not about feeling awkward and unfit only but irritated about disarrayed and unpalatable situations or things too.
A perfectionist, who tries to impose whimsical ideas or behaviour and ostensibly shows to set everything right or is engrossed in captious criticism vitiates the atmosphere, detrimental to others besides being harmful to the person concerned as well.
Narcissistic Approach Is Regressive
Intending to show the best is universal and often good also. At the same time, thinking about others comparatively low is a trait that can’t garner support. Mendacity, nevertheless, leads to asphyxiation of the person facing it. A narcissistic approach hiding excesses done under the shroud of something or the other and imposing whims strains the relationship. Harassment is not permissible in a civilized society and is serious when done in the confines. It pushes one to the feeling of being out of place.
Feeling of Being Out of Place
Feeling out of place is personal but situation-specific and depends upon the mental situation at a given time. A frustrated person would not be in a position to listen to sermons on what should have been done and what has not been done. Sans capricious behaviour, criticism becomes negative even if its intention is bonafide. A positive criticism at the right time and right place have a magical effect. It helps a lot in healing provided the taker intends to take it positively.
Harmony is Crucial for Bliss
Cart of life rests on a bogey consisting of two wheels. There are many aspects of a thing, but one thing that can’t be ignored is the two phases, that is, of darkness followed by glow. There is always a flip side; glued together, both move together. It is cyclic but when linear, acts interchangeably. Long ago, metaphorically describing it, a notable celebrity writer wrote in one story that a stone and water have fire hidden in them, likewise a person, no matter how strong or weak, has hidden emotions. Human being is a mixed bag of emotions. It would be wise to harmonize and craft a symphony of gentle, melodious, and soul-soothing musical pieces that synergistically create bliss. Skipping cacophony becomes easy with manoeuvring skills among the noisy phases.
Life is a Joyous Rollercoaster Ride
A rollercoaster ride thrills; it gives us a sensation of steep and swift fall, whirling around, zooming up and down, and passing swiftly on the serpentine tracks. Likewise, life is a joyous rollercoaster ride. It has to be enjoyed and faced. The problems and difficulties are intrinsic and allow us to learn something new, enriching our experiences. The seemingly long difficult phases are bound to pass. Perseverance and an ardent wish to excel and achieve are driving forces that persistently push to fight against the odds. Yet, gargantuan problems are intimidating and cause disappointments but lamenting about them is fruitless. Hard work and hope are the fuel that keeps burning the inner fire to be victorious, vanquishing the odds.
