Nature's Narrative

Telling the story of our planet

One and only entity that governs the whole universe is Nature. Some have personified Nature as Almighty who is omnipotent and omnipresent. I endearingly prefer to call Mother Nature who is caring and benevolent. She takes care of and nourishes us all.

As a member of the great family, we must respect and care for every element of Mother Nature. Felling trees causes habitat destruction, ultimately leading to a big and irrevocable destruction. It needs to be managed scientifically to keep a harmonious equilibrium.

Here comes the LiFE, which is Lifestyle for Environment.

I endeavour to create impactful, quality writing pieces to instigate the thought process. It is how I want to contribute my bit to the social and environmental cause.

Come, embark on the journey with me. You will enjoy it, I am sure.

Contemplation

He used to contemplate and read during morning hours, sitting in a chair and intermittently gazing outside the door. The door of his study is his only open space that connects him with the outside world. The view of the sky looks good through the door, which sometimes appears like a large window.

(1) The ambience

The morning was pleasant. The sun was radiant, and the azure sky appeared breathtakingly clear without a single cloud. Plumeria trees have now become tall with thick canopies. They give shade to passersby during summer. The trees are also the roosting sites of various birds like Bulbul, Sunbirds and sparrows. Occasionally, birds of prey are also seen perched on the terrace wall or on the edges of solar panels. Broad lanceolate leaves of Plumeria in their dense phyllotaxy were swinging in the breeze.

It was a pleasant morning. The radiant sun and the clear azure sky looked stunningly beautiful. (AI)

(2) The drifting cloud

A lone drifting patch of cloud appeared on the clear blue horizon. It looked like a lump of loose cotton. The leisurely drifting patch soon went out of sight. Time appeared to be crawling for some time because the ambience seemed so appealing that he thought it had halted.

(3) way of life

The lone speck of drifting cottony cloud vanished from sight. Gradually, yet another one appeared. Initially, they were sparse, but soon their movement increased, overshadowing the sun. A gush of air soon scattered them. The sun again shone brightly. It is the way life moves on the path of introspection and relationships.

Duality in life

The bright sun was shining on Plumeria. Part of it was shadowed by its own. The play of light and shade reminds about the duality in life. Illuminated a few moments ago, the area was now under the shadow of its own leaves. Nature often tells the facts of life in its own way.

The lone speck of drifting cottony cloud vanish from sight. Soon, it was followed by another one. (AI)

Human nature

Like the fleeting light and shadow described above, human nature and mood are also transient. At times, it is unpredictable too. Human beings have intellect and reasoning. They have their way of looking at things from their perspective. Thus, they have some shaded areas that they carefully guard. Humans have a tendency to always talk well about themselves. They talk in absolute terms to the point of monotony and garrulous boasting. Nevertheless, introspection to have a healthy relationship is important. (Britannica)

(1) Inner consciousness

The inner consciousness knows an individual better than anyone else. It is the inner consciousness which sends signals and sometimes speaks about the reality of an individual. Listening to an honest and bona fide suggestion of it can change the individual for good. It is, thus, imperative to have deep cogitation. It can help evaluate the situation and our behaviour better at the given point in time.

(2) Absolute is impossible

An individual’s judgment can’t always be right. It depends upon various factors. These can be anything among the listed points below:

  • The facts can be viciated, concocted or misrepresented.
  • The thought process of the judging person substantially affects the judgment.
  • Absolute is an impossible utopia.
  • Mistakes are intrinsic. It is rightly said that err is human.
  • Experience teaches to differentiate between good and bad, right and wrong.
  • Introspection for a healthy relationship.

The best thing is to accept the fault and, learning from it, evolve oneself. It, nevertheless, doesn’t happen as a rule. Here too, the reasons are different depending on situations. Apart from bona fide reasons, personal ego inhibits acceptance.

(3) Adjustment is crucial.

Relationships are delicate and need care. A haughty attitude is detrimental to the health of a relationship. Thus, the degree of adjustment is crucial. It is of utmost importance in a family.

Family

Family is not merely a conglomerate of individuals but a close-knit group of related persons. It should not be taken for granted. The family is a canopy of safety and security of its kembers. Family understands and cooperates to cope with the situation, but this too is not unlimited.

(1) Egocentric behaviour

Thinking only about personal gain is selfish. It is can be good when used in limited amount, but a brazen egocentric behaviour becomes impossible to handle. In a fast-paced society, adjustment to anyone’s capricious attitude is challenging. Each family member has a responsibility towards other members. The cooperation of family is also not unlimited and can’t go on ad nauseam.

(2) Differences are intrinsic

Differences in a family is normal and natural. Important is that how individual members sort it out. Sometimes, it can be a severe psychological disorder. Problem arises when the affected member doesn’t mend ways and try to stick to the irrational behaviour. This need an expert counciling. The problem can be solved by mutual concent and proper counciling. If all ways are closed and breaking is the only solution, one more try should be made before parting ways.

(3) Unilateral adjustments

People usually keep mum about atrocious behaviour. The reasons are many, including financial compulsions, societal pressures, or personal reasons. The latter type of people try to adjust after weighing every aspect. A senseless and egotistic p doesn’t realise the simplicity and diligence of the partner and continues their rude behaviour.

(4) Will issue

Persistant adjustments against irrational behaviour of a family members is taxing for others. It is like a fight against invisible which is inimical to the proper development of children. A whimsical behaviour or will issue is hard to cure until a sense of self realisation dawns. Persistant commotion, non adjustments and haughty behaviour of a member creates restlessness in others. It visibly affects and make them peevish. It should be identified and overcome by the “ailing” member lest the family breaks.

Life span

Individual life is unidirectional and linear. It doesn’t give many chances for experimentation. An individual is not eternal. Thus, the span of life should be constructive, peaceful and enjoyable. Distorting and making others painful boomerangs. Will it serve the purpose? It temporarily satiates the inflated ego, but in the long run, it pays back in the same coin.

Life can be blissful

No one is permanent, nor is their stay in the temporal world. The phantasmagoric world is illusory, and like a pavonine soap bubble, it is short-lived. Mutual respect, proper understanding, care and affection are thus imperative. These, along with dispassionate introspection, help create amicability and a healthy relationship. It makes life a bliss. There would be no grudges at the time of final adieu to the world.

Parable

A parable can explain the trauma. Sister-brother duo were happy living in their small house with their parents. Sister was a few years older than her brother. She loved her brother and used to take good care of him. That morning, annoyed with her brother’s childish act, she scolded him and stopped talking to him as she usually does. It was not a normal day. Fear was looming large over the village of the enemy intruding. They invaded and forcefully separated them. She managed to survive but his brother and father were missing. It left a deep scar in her mind. She could not forgive herself for the “rude behaviour” against her for the rest of her life.

Moments are unpredictable. In the Sanatan tradition, it is believed that God, incarnated as a human, also underwent sufferings. He bowed to the law of the Supreme Soul.

Self-evaluation

Knowing about oneself is a good thing, but it can be biased. A dispassionate introspection is essential to keep oneself grounded and happy relationship. Still, self-evaluation can often be lopsided. Thus, the role of an impartial, dispassionate and rather harsh critique is needed. A constructive critique doesn’t carp and cavil but also highlights the positive aspects of the person as well. This allows for improvement. Harsh criticism is more often than not is difficult, but it sometimes becomes necessary. Ravana, in the famous epic of Ramayana, was unconquerable. The arrogance led him to overconfidence and ultimately to doom.

(1) Physical grooming

Grooming is an important aspect of life. Inner grooming brings out the real shine of an individual, which outshines. Inner grooming comes from introspection important for a joyful relationship. Physical fitness is equally necessary. Keeping oneself clean and tidy is also essential. Thus, outer grooming is necessary. It gives an overall presentable picture of an individual and elevates self-confidence. While grooming externally, using good-quality products is advisable. One should consider using one like the one available on https://amzn.to/3UYsyMm.

In the end

To sum up, life is precious. It will not return. Leading a balanced life is necessary for a creative and peaceful life. To know thyself is the mantra for which dispassionate introspection is necessary. A critical evaluation by an unbiased person supplements the process. It is advisable to talk to an annoying person. Nonetheless, if everybody appears annoying, it is better to take a look. Unnecessary annoyance overburdens the brain and physical activities. It adversely affects the quality of life. It needs to be addressed. Sooner the better. After all, it is one’s life, and the decision must also be theirs.
