He was infuriated and exasperated. Hurriedly, he came out of the room where a few people were sitting with him and discussing something. His face was red with enrage, and he was murmuring to himself in a subdued hissing voice which was inaudible. He went to a secluded place and sat on a bench under the dense canopy of a tree. He took deep breaths and successfully tried to compose himself.
The Problem
Later during his conversation, he recounted the incident that had taken place in that room that had infuriated him. The core of the conversation was that he became restless when someone in the room expressed judgment. They shared their preconceived notions. These notions were absurd, defamatory, and derogatory. He objected to it, but the person obstinately stuck to that and cantankerously argued. It had bugged him.

(a) Humans are social
Humans are social animals. It is difficult for them to live in isolation. They enter into a relationship, raise a family and try to achieve according to their will and capacity. They interact with each other, and after deliberations, they reach a conclusion. It is an ideal situation.
(b) Problem starts when…
The difficulty arises when people become judgmental. They try to judge things and people based on their perception by viewing things through their kaleidoscope. Cross-check the facts is not their concern. Considering the other side of the argument is not essential. They do it to spread gossip and canards, which is their favourite pastime. It is thus the judgmental attitude and human perception that emerge as causes.
(c) People like sensation
Backbiting and slandering are but a few traits which amuse people. People love sensation, and they get it by the habit of scathing and sometimes character assassination. They readily believe baseless things about a person, incident or things and juice it out.

News presentations of calamities on TV serve as a glaring example. People are bombarded with fake and/or twisted news to increase viewership. The anchors and news presenters howl on the TV screen and show the “facts” blown out of proportion. People used to sway by news canards and become opinionated.
(c2) Distorted Facts are canards
Misrepresentation, fabrication, and distorted or twisted facts are not truths. It is rubbish, which, when left unattended, starts stinking. It bothers simple people who do not want to get entangled in this type of foul play.
(d) Gossiping amuses
It is routine to see people deeply engrossed in gossiping during their recess time. It is their first-hand experience of getting amused. The mentality gets its nourishment from the juices of ubiquitous falsehood. A couple in love is a soft target, especially when it pertains to a girl. Imaginations run free, allowing the creation of an imagined sequence of events to start. This is how people entertain themselves. While gossiping, people talk lip-smackingly. They enjoy a judgmental attitude which petrifies human perception.
Peeking through slits
It is rightly said that people love peeking through slits. Open up the slit wide, and they will vanish. He recalled the days when a girl would come to him for guidance on various subjects. Sitting in a secluded room, she would study, and he used to sit near her to help. People would peep from the slit of the doors to find out something “sensational”. He opened the door ajar. They stopped visiting and peeping because they left no veil. The interest was lost.
Suspense is thrilling
The human mind is an excellent organ. It receives impulses and processes them to reach a conclusion and make a decision. Stark opposites shock and amuse. It is why suspense gives a thrill. Anything that gives it gets instant popularity. This tendency is capitalised on by some. Thrillers, suspense films, and dramas have become popular genres. They delve into the mysteries of the unseen and unknown in the creative field.
An abstract painting attracts eyeballs. It challenges the mind and forces it to work. The mind visualises the painting according to notions and thinking. It presents a picture best suited to the person viewing the painting. Some perceive a fish in the painting, while others perceive it as a young village lady going to fetch water.

The uncertainty and mystery evoke a sensation. Exploring new caves, navigating challenging jungles, or embarking on sea expeditions often gives people a thrilling sensation. The famous novel “She” by H. Rider Haggard transports readers to mysterious places inhabited by enigmatic individuals with fascinating rituals and cultures. It is an entertaining literary work that weaves a captivating tapestry of suspense, excitement, and wonder at the extraordinary.
(b) Canard can be fatal
Amusing with imaginary thoughts that suit temperament is not harmful. It is acceptable. Yet, pleasure drawn from engaging in backbiting and being judgmental is bothersome. Instances have come to light when persons of weak mind have taken extreme steps when confronted with a canard.
(c) Treachery is loathsome
Like backbiting and spreading canard, treachery and deceit are loathsome. They not only catch a person off guard but also cause inhalation. A blind follower is an easy target. Bertend Russell has rightly said that one must entertain their idea with some measure of doubt. It is better than dogmatically believing one thing or the other. Many instances of people landing in hot water after a blind belief in a thing or person. People were deprived of their hard-earned money and savings by hoodwinkers under the disguise of a fake identity.
Fake Spiritualism
(a) Mushrooming fake godmen
The mushrooming population of fake godmen, godwomen and spiritual preachers are a cause of concern. They spread misinformation and create instability in society. Additionally, they act as spies. They hoodwink people to extract money. Furthermore, they engage in espionage for enemies of the country. A recent catch of a big fish is harrowing. They used to run an organised crime of proselytising innocent people. They also siphoned money through spurious means.
(b) Blindfolded belief
Blindfolded people tracking fake godmen are deliberately deceiving themselves. They need to realise that God is an abstract entity who is omnipotent and omnipresent. The most important thing is to search for Him within oneself. Do not look for Him in the vicinity of counterfeit godmen or so-called spiritual doyens who are actually ordinary people. Spiritualism is a way of self-realisation, not running behind a mirage.
(c) Voice of conscience
Belief is a strength if it is mixed with a pinch of prudence. Self-introspection helps in attaining the truth through knowledge of self. The inner conscience is our best guide, mentor and expert. People need to hear the voice of inner consciousness, which never deceives. Sometimes people are oblivious about the judgemental attitude, and perception affecting human relationships.
Nation first
Acts of subversion, treachery, deceit and hoodwinking are condemnable. Self-promotion and working for self-betterment are actively good for an individual and passively to society. People of the country must place the interests of the nation above everything else. This commitment ensures a brighter future for all of us. Treason is a heinous crime, and quislings need to be viewed sternly. A weak nation can’t grow and prosper. History testifies that United we stand, divided we fall. The selfish attitudes of individuals contribute to the disintegration and weakening of the nation and its citizens.
Ram Rajya
An absolute ideal society like “Ram Rajya” is a utopia, but a better society and a developed nation are achievable. It is not impractical. Humanity has seen countries that were devastated and annihilated rise from their ashes. These countries became economic powers through their resolve, determination, and hard work. The people are the mind, eye and ear of a country. A condensed force of people with vigilant eyes and ears can avert any action of subversion or sabotage.
India, that is, Bharat
India is a land of Ram, Krishna, and Buddha. It has been a prosperous nation in every sense. The great sages of ancient India, known as “Bharat,” have greatly influenced its development as an intellectual and spiritual superpower. We have great teachers like Chanakya, philosophers like Shankar and a king like Ashoka the Great. In current times, India is now on an all-around developmental expressway and progressing fast toward a self-reliant and brighter tomorrow.
