Nature's Narrative

Telling the story of our planet

One and only entity that governs the whole universe is Nature. Some have personified Nature as Almighty who is omnipotent and omnipresent. I endearingly prefer to call Mother Nature who is caring and benevolent. She takes care of and nourishes us all.

As a member of the great family, we must respect and care for every element of Mother Nature. Felling trees causes habitat destruction, ultimately leading to a big and irrevocable destruction. It needs to be managed scientifically to keep a harmonious equilibrium.

Here comes the LiFE, which is Lifestyle for Environment.

I endeavour to create impactful, quality writing pieces to instigate the thought process. It is how I want to contribute my bit to the social and environmental cause.

Come, embark on the journey with me. You will enjoy it, I am sure.

Why We Should Invent Our Own Holidays

Invent a holiday! Explain how and why everyone should celebrate.

The piece proposes the invention of a holiday dedicated to Mother Nature, emphasizing genuine happiness over artificial expressions of love for God. It advocates for gratitude towards nature, acknowledging the vital role it plays in sustaining life. Celebrations should promote humility, inclusivity, and a connection to the environment, fostering appreciation for life’s bounties.

Invent a holiday! What an idea!! What is the need of inventing a holiday? Is it because we all have become shrouded with a fake stole? Artificially crying hoarse and ludicrously showing love for God, publicizing our “love” and “compassion” in a wake to impress others is really the thing we call a holiday, that needs to be “invented”?

Happiness

The holiday is not only a state of showing our fake ecstasy. It is a buoyant feeling which comes out naturally without any reason or fake attachment to “God”. Happiness is a state of mind that doesn’t need to be explained, nor does it need any cause like showing respect to God. The artificial longing to serve humanity(?) is nothing more than a trick of fooling oneself.

Thanksgiving

Even if I am to “invent” a holiday and celebrate it the way I want, it should be dedicated to Mother Nature who gives us bounties and reasons to laugh, a lot more necessary for life. I must dedicate a day of thanksgiving to Her, a mother figure compassionate and benevolent. I feel happy in Her vicinity and long to watch Her playing with colours, painting abstract objects using seven spectral colours, mixing and matching them in myriad ways to create a wonderful world of art and creation, simply invigorating and joyous.

Thanksgiving is about feeling connected to our roots and recognizing the fleeting nature of human existence. We express gratitude to the Mother in various shapes and forms, offering oblations as a gesture of thanks to a power capable of bestowing blessings upon us. It is a modest way for humans to show their appreciation. Thus, it is vital to celebrate festivals, occasions, or events with passion and enthusiasm.

Pure Bliss

The day should be free for all. Wandering, watching, appreciating and feeling happy and buoyant should be the result. No haughtiness, no-nonsense but ecstasy and rapturous feeling by watching Nature and Her work. I do not wish a world, full of artificial guffaw, fake exhibition of love for “God”, always being in a state of mind thinking about myself in a narcissistic way. The “invented” day should involve all and sundry enjoy together, if possible.  One must feel free to enjoy the way one wishes to but with a common cause of protecting, caring and respecting our environment, our surroundings and the whole planet we call Earth.

Look at a flower head swinging its head happily in tranquil environs inviting attention to watch its beauty and admire its contribution towards the strengthening and serving the cause of Nature. The hovering bumblebee, buzzing honeybees busy collecting nectar and pollen, and the aroma of floral fragrance all boil down to a celestial beauty with a cause.

Humans have Created God

(A) Is God Fearsome?

Humans have invented a figure and assigned everything that is uncontrollable to Him. It was made mandatory to force their will to love that figure as if the wrath of God would befall and destroy us if we did not “love” Him! What a ridiculous idea! Love and respect are intrinsic, they should come from within, not imposed. “God”, a loving entity, can’t be ruthless and heartless that merely not loving Him will be disastrous. Why have we portrayed God as a ferocious, irascible entity who gets furious about every petty thing but does not get angry when violence and arson are spread in His name!

(B) Invisible but Omnipresent

The ultimate entity is someone invisible but exists everywhere. He is omnipotent and omnipresent. He governs every facet of existence, his presence manifested in all that dwells on Earth and throughout the cosmos. We must be thankful to the Sun, the eternal energy source. The celestial body has a very disturbed atmosphere where many fission and fusion reactions occur every moment causing extensive energy and heat to dissipate. Only a fraction of that energy is enough to produce food, run the food chain/web and put the machinery of the universe running,

(C) He created Mother Nature

We must be thankful to Him who created Mother Nature and Her components. The joined forces sustain life and its processes to run smoothly. The plethora of different life forms, plants and animals, sweet fruits, grains and many more to relish and enjoy are elixir for our strength, stamina and good health. He is the one who gives bounties, paying back is simply impossible. The only thing we can do, and it must be done, is to thank Him for the bounties of the most precious thing that is life.

Holiday

The holiday is when work is stopped, and people are at liberty to celebrate to be happy with their family and friends, the way they want to. Mostly, the festivals are observed to thank Mother Nature and pay respect for the gift after a crop is reaped. It used to be a time for celebration because of the rapturous state of affairs. In Sanatan tradition, every festival is linked with crops and the time of reaping harvests brings joy, a sense of fulfilment and achievement. People worship their deities, clean their houses, make colourful designs, put on new clothes, cook good food using freshly harvested grains and celebrate the occasion with religious fervour. They worship to thank the Almighty. The religion gives the occasion a touch of devotion and respect. People have personified natural forces as God and Goddesses to feel the connection.

Celebrations

Call by any name, the celebration is a means of self-expression, a medium for happiness and feeling connected. It is linked with any occasion or called a festival, but the essence is the same: to thank and feel humbled towards the Supreme Soul who is found everywhere. People are strongly connected with Nature. It is not by chance that festivals are not centred around individuals. Celebrations do not revolve solely around a person or an event, even though they are often linked with them.

Dissipate Happiness Be Humble

Keeping oneself in the centre and celebrating an occasion by doing what pleases us is an entirely self-centred concept. Being happy is one’s right and it must be granted, but self-praising and an egotistic approach must be kept at bay. One needs to be humble, inclusive and all-embracing while celebrating an occasion or a festival.
