Pahalgam: April 2025
The Baisaran valley of Pahalgam in Kashmir (India) witnessed one such act on 22 April 2025, perpetrated and sponsored by the outfits operating from elsewhere. It has been a frequent activity; the last instance was in 2008 in Mumbai. Unarmed and off-guard tourists in Pahalgam targeted, snatching 26 lives in cold blood after identifying and ascertaining their religious identity. Nailing perpetrators, India retaliated. “Operation Sindoor” launched. Precise and accurate non-escalatory operations destroyed terrorists’ hideouts.
Terrorism damages
Tourists visiting Pahalgam in Kashmir play a vital role in the state’s economy, as tourism is the mainstay of economic activity and a primary source of livelihood for the local population. Violence disrupts the local economy and hinders people’s living. They aimed to jeopardise the peaceful environment of Kashmir and tried to push the State back into chaos. Nevertheless, the simple, honest, and hardworking people of Kashmir want development and seek to live a peaceful and decent life. The terrorists utterly failed in breaking the spirit of brave people.
Kashmir Pundits uprooted
The misadventure is not new for India, which has been facing it since its independence in 1947. The Pundits of Kashmir persecuted and killed in 1990. Defenestrated from their native homes and pushed to the fringes in a subtle but sure way. The situation was akin to the prepartition horrendous disturbances around 1947, which ultimately led to the vivisection of the country.
Spirits are high
Despite doing their worst, the toxic elements failed to destabilise the harmony of the State and the country. They couldn’t suppress the spirits of the Indian people. The persistent stubborn acts of sponsored subversion and terrorism by a few, they couldn’t succeed.
International condemnation
The world unanimously condemned the cowardly act in Pahalgam. The perpetrators tried to portray themselves as innocent. Their continued support to terror outfits for parochial gains exposed in front of the world.
Terrorism across the world
Terrorism and intolerance are prevalent in other parts of the world, too. On 7 October 2023, illegally crossing the international border, terrorists fired indiscriminately, killed about 1200 innocents and abducted 251 in Israel. The attack took people off guard when they were celebrating the Sabbath. Israel launched a counter-offensive and fell heavily on the terrorist outfit. In the counter-offensive on terrorists’ hideouts, innocents, children, and older people suffered a lot. (Wikipedia)
Religion doesn’t preach terrorism
Religion does not preach innocent killing. The selfish radicals seriously harm religion and its essence by forcing their fake “ideology” using guns. The state sponsors and network behind these groups operate with a calculated, dangerous defiance of international law.
Enemy’s hollow wailing
The enemy’s empty threats and fake rattles were of no use as the world realised the slavish behaviour. The world is not in favour of terrorism in any form. They lost credibility and are struggling for their survival. As usual, they started carp and cavil, and traducing. Instead of mending their ways, they keep on backstabbing and trying to bully.
Family ruined
The deceased were innocent civilians. The religious fanatics ruined families, wiped “Sindoor” (Vermillion) from the foreheads of women and orphaned children. None other than the shell-shocked boy can feel it deeply, whose father killed in cold blood by terrorists. The carnage is etched in minds. It can’t be forgotten.
The act of stealthy, unprovoked violence reveals the absolute moral bankruptcy of the perpetrators.
Angry India
India is angry and boiling. People of all sections joined together in solidarity with the families of the deceased. Every drop of their blood will nourish a cause of national integrity and human values. They shall always stay in the hearts of the Indian people.
Terrorism has no place in civil society
There are a lot of problems that require redressal, but the menace of terrorism, extremism and bloodshed is at the top. The world is univocal against it. There should be no place for intolerance and bigotry. It has to be curtailed and crushed. The world is sitting on a tinder box, ready to detonate at the hands of a handful of maniacs and high-headed.
Peace-loving India
India has always been an advocate of peaceful coexistence. We have always respected the territorial integrity and sovereignty of other countries. Nevertheless, we have never compromised on our national boundaries. The world needs development and mutual cooperation, not conflict and unmindful bloodshed. It leads to nowhere but doom. The world is facing a crisis. waiting to resolve with mutual dialogue and proper understanding.
No to terrorism: Let peace prevail
Let us pray for the solace of the deceased Soul who left us untimely in an unpredictable bloodshed. May the Almighty grant them eternal peace and strength for their loved ones. People look for the day when the world will develop, be at peace, and everyone will be happy.
So be it.
