Describe your most ideal day from beginning to end.
The ideal day described begins with a serene morning drive to a park, enjoying the tranquillity and the beauty of nature. After an invigorating walk, he returns home to savour solitude, tea, and writing. The day concludes peacefully with a warm dinner and continued creative work, embracing nature’s beauty throughout.
The morning was crisp and refreshing. It was dawn, and the city was calm. The otherwise busy roads and roadside kiosks were empty. The closed kiosks seemed waiting for their owners to come and enliven them. Except for a few eateries which served morning breakfast and were preparing for the start, every other commercial activity was closed. People working in the eateries were busy kneading flour, preparing spices and arranging things for the customers.
Sitting on the steering wheel, he was driving his car destined for a local park. It was his most liked spot which he would often visit to freshen himself during the daytime. Today he was going to have a stroll of a few Kilometers in the park. He was slowly driving to have a look at the streets. People were awakened, and they were busy starting their day, sweeping their courtyard.
He simply loved the activities and the empty city roads. Passing through the clump of shady trees flanked on both sides of the road, he reached his destination. The park was also not crowded, only a few people had arrived. The nearby residents had come on foot holding a sick in their hand as a status symbol of looking different while on the walk. Some had come on their vehicles. He looked around while locking his car and headed towards the entry.
Exchanging pleasantries with guards, he smilingly enquired about their health and well-being; he entered the park. The guards have become familiar with him, and as he approaches the park gate, they smilingly welcome him.
The sprawling park is full of verdurous plants and trees. The season is becoming balmy. After the biting cold, it gives respite and a sense of mental elevation. People had started gathering. They were peregrinating on the rubberized promenade, specially constructed for the purpose by authorities. Walking on the promenade was a joy as it gave a comfortable cushioning while walking. Physically challenged people walk slowly and comfortably on it.
The crimson pathway looks beautiful, passing through green shrubbery laden with inflorescence of slender tubular flowers. In the morning hours, they look pleasantly beautiful with honeybees hovering over them. As the sun rises on the horizon, a kaleidoscope of colourful Butterflies makes the scene more glorious and Enchanting.
As usual, he took moderate strides and covered a fairly long distance, walking on various promenades and pathways, passing through the clumps of long slender bamboo plants and an open road encircling the large water body. Usually, he covers a distance of about ten Kilometers. His mobile smartphone announces the completion of every one-kilometre distance.
The walk has always been invigorating. He enjoys the company of vivifying plants, beautiful and colourful flowers, insects busy in their work and beautiful feeding caterpillars. He often starts monologue with them, and strangely, it seems that they are responding to him by their gestures!
After an exhaustive walk, he came back to his car, gulped some water from the bottle kept in the car and seated back on the saddle. Soon the engine growled as he cranked the car. It moved slowly and started running on the road back home.
He purchased some dairy products on the way and headed towards his nest. The sun had risen high in the sky. It was a moderately warm and pleasant day. The crowd had started growing, and roads, which were empty in the early morning, now started becoming crowded.
Reaching home, he washed his feet and face, freshened himself and, sitting on the dining table, started sipping refreshing tea. Normally, he doesn’t want to converse. Being a solitary person, he prefers to keep silent. While wandering in the park, too, he seldom talks and avoids crowds. He was silently enjoying the bliss of solitude he experienced in the park. His spouse was busy with her work.
He doesn’t work and leads a superannuated life. He lives with his spouse in a decently built small house, which he constructed with difficulty a few years back. There is no other one who lives with them. He is not in a hurry to go to his workplace. After having tea, he went to his study.
His study room is a small and orderly place. He used to call it his cosy nook. He opened the front flap of his table, switched on the laptop and started scanning it. Stopped at some news sites and watched some clips of national interest and international news to keep himself updated; he stopped at a site and started watching a wildlife film.
Perching on a branch of a Plumeria tree, a Coppersmith barbet was calling rhythmically. Plumeria is in front of his house, the branches of which have grown up and spread to touch the fringe of his balcony’s wall. Fragrant flowers of the tree used to fill his study with the wisp of their sweet scent. The call of barbet was intermittently supplemented by the ringing sound of Bulbul. The scenario was Soul soothing. He paused the video he was watching, sat quietly and enjoyed the symphony of the avian orchestra.
The sun had started its downward journey after staying for a moment or two at the top. The hands of the wall clock showed that it was a quarter to one. After the film on wildlife was finished, he came down on the call of his spouse. Sitting on the dining table, she was waiting for him. Seeing him coming, she started arranging breakfast. He accompanied her. Both of them started having their repast. He took eggs and two slices of bread with Cheese spread and tomato. Both had tea after they were done.
He started contemplating a topic he wanted to write about. Fond of reading and writing, he used to write about the things close to his heart. Taking pictures is also his like. He considers himself an amateur photographer. Modern computer technology has eased his picture-taking hobby. His smartphone comes in handy and helps him take fairly good pictures with it, avoiding heavy camera gadgets to carry.
After giving a thought, he sat down, opened his laptop computer and started typing. He has made it a habit of writing (or typing) at least twelve hundred or more words daily. He likes enriching his vocabulary; knowing about new words thrills him. It is one of his best pastimes to learn new words and their etymology.
After continued writing for some time, he felt drowsiness, so he came down to take a siesta. After having a brief nap, he felt fresh. The sun was in the last leg of its journey. It looked rapturous. A large crimson-red ball is an absolute delight to see while going down.
Standing on his terrace, he watched the natural drama unfolding with great admiration. Soon after sunset, crepuscule sets in. The pink hue of scattering light on the azure sky, embellished with streaks of wispy clouds and returning flocks of birds, presented a magnum opus creation on the huge natural canvas.
He copiously thanked Almighty who is omnipresent but unseen and omnipotent. He thanked the Supreme Soul for everything and also for leasing time to watch the spectacular natural show. A soft and silky shroud of darkness gradually enveloped the environment.
He came down and had an evening tea with his spouse. While taking tea, both of them teased jovially to each other and conversed on the routine matter. After the tea was finished, he came up again to cogitate and read/write. Before doing that, he edited some of the pictures he had taken during the day.
Dinner time of the couple is late at night, mostly at midnight. In the meantime, he used to work on his laptop and watch news and other programs on it. His spouse accompanies him as and when she wants to. He doesn’t have a TV. His requirements are fulfilled by the laptop computer.
After the dinner is over, he usually continues his work on the computer while everyone sleeps. Feeling drowsiness, he sums up the total paraphernalia and slips into the cosy, warm cocoon of his quilt. Gradually, the sleeping goddess embraces him in her lap, and he slides into a deep slumber.
