As we grow, things around us grow too. The perception changes with time and situation, making us more stable and mature. By the time one realizes it, the time passes away leaving a trail we call experience. The moment does not come back as stepping in the same river twice is impossible. In the early stages of growth, a child is often enticed by various attention-grabbing things. Nevertheless, whether this interest waxes or wanes depends on personal preferences and the ability to pursue it later in life.
Money does play a vital role in life. While cupidity is undoubtedly frowned upon, financial considerations inevitably influence the choice of one’s path. Exceptionally though, people chase their dream job but pulling it on for long becomes daunting as they move. The struggle, failure, epicaricacy and compromises smash the confidence and will of the individual. It becomes formidable for a novice to pull along. Only a person with iron will and determination successfully wades through challenges and forges a path. Warriors are those who fight without considering their fate till the end. I have respect for those who do not surrender and fight till last.
A teenager who dreams of becoming a football player, a cricketer, a photographer, a painter or a creator in any field has to have ardent wish, zeal and passion for it. While choosing a conventional line to earn bread and butter is linear and convenient; making a road digging mountains, however, is tedious. It needs committed persistent effort and hard work. Many people give up pursuing their dreams because of hard-hitting adversities.
Having said that, I would list the three things that I still feel are close to my heart. They are:
- Nature and Environment
- Photographing the jungle and its life
- Writing
There are many more things, but the things listed above are my priorities. I tried to and am still struggling to get them but because of the constraints, it is still a far cry. While I do not have control over the outcomes, I do have control over the effort I exert. That is what I am committed to doing.
